Prairie Trail Middle School: A Sweet Reward for a Job Well Done!
At the Prairie Trail Father’s Club, we believe in two things: hard work and celebrating it. On October 14th, we got to do both!
Prairie Trail Middle School Community Service Day
It all started with the incredible Prairie Trail Middle School Community Service Day. We were blown away by the effort of our students. They weren’t just sitting in a classroom; they were out in the community, making a real, tangible difference.
This year’s event was a massive undertaking, with students traveling to 43 different service sites throughout our area. They were bagging meals, cleaning up parks, visiting with seniors, and showing our community what Prairie Trail students are made of. We are so proud of them!
We knew that this level of hard work and character deserved a special “thank you.” And what’s the official language of celebration for a middle schooler? Ice cream, of course. With chocolate syrup, caramel sauce, sprinkles and other fun toppings.
Father’s Club organized a sweet surprise
As students finished their service projects and headed to the lunchroom, a team of our dads was lying in wait, armed with scoops and tubs of ice cream. The excitement was immediate!
It was a fantastic opportunity for us to interact with all the students, not just our own. We got to hear their stories from the different service sites, share a few laughs, and yes, deliver a few high-quality, dad jokes (to the delight and/or groans of the students, which is how we know they’re working).
This is exactly why the Prairie Trail Father’s Club exists
It’s not just about scooping ice creams or planning events. It’s about showing up. It’s about being present in our kids’ school environment and supporting the amazing staff. It’s about providing a positive presence and celebrating our students for their hard work.
Of course, an event like this doesn’t happen on its own. A massive thank you goes out to the dedicated team of dads who took time out of their day to set up, serve, and clean up. Their “scooping skills” were top-notch!
Our club is strong because of volunteers like these:
– Sean Hedenskog
– Chris Martin
– Brian Cole
– Fernando Brana
– Josh Person
– Aaron Niemeier
– Chad Boling
Thank you, gentlemen!
If you’re a Prairie Trail dad reading this, we want you to be a part of this. Being in Father’s Club isn’t a massive time commitment, but it has a massive impact. It’s a chance to build great memories, support your child’s school, and connect with other dads. Whether you can give one hour a year or help plan an event, we need you.
Want to join us for the next event? We’d love to have you.
