Father’s Club featured in Community Minute
By Mike Davisson, Executive Director for Father’s Club
I recently sat down with my good friend Jeremy Marks from Community Lending of America for their “Community Minute” series, and I’m pumped to share it with you.
At its core, Father’s Club is like a dad version of the PTO. We’re a grassroots, dad-led effort focused on giving fathers a simple, intentional way to be present in our kids’ lives—at school, at home, and in the community. Moms have been killing it for years, and we want dads to know we’re invited, we’re needed, and we have a huge role to play.
We all see it happen—around middle school, when those phones and screens show up, a lot of us start losing that close connection with our kids. Father’s Club exists to change that. By showing up, we’re not just helping our own families; we’re working together to tackle some tough issues: mental health, teen suicide prevention, substance abuse, technology addiction, anxiety, self-worth, and building stronger families overall.
This work lights me up every single day. If you’ve got kids in any of our schools, ask them about Father’s Club—you might be surprised by the impact we’re already making.
Thanks for reading, and thanks to everyone already showing up for their families. Let’s keep building something special together.
